Mary Westover, MA

Mary Westover, MA, Resident Therapist

Mary wants each client she works with to see themselves as the expert and authority in their own life story, and she works with clients as they discover and examine the stories that shape their sense of self.

At the same time, each of us exists in relationship with others, and these relationships shape our ideas about who we are. Mary enjoys working with adolescents, individuals, and couples who seek more meaningful relationships with themselves, as well as with their partners, family, friends, and community.

Mary also finds value in working with clients who are renegotiating their religious or spiritual identities, which may involve deconstructing personal faith or recovering from religious trauma. Other areas of special clinical interest for Mary include anxiety, depression, relationship distress, self-discovery, life transitions, and family conflict.

Mary is honored to collaborate with clients as they navigate the complexities of their lives and relationships, working together with them in a space of safety, openness, and care as they move towards healing and growth.

Get To Know Kristina

I love people. I enjoy getting to be involved in the smallest concerns from making decisions,  emotional struggles, to fears and sadness. I am honored to be invited into the smallest details to the major changes  of someone’s life. I love the process of growth and the honor of being part of someone’s journey.

People should try counseling because life is easier if you are not alone. Counseling provides an opportunity for connection that is a special relationship and is unlike any other in our  daily life.

I hope my client’s feel how much I care about their concerns. I want them to feel that I see them and hear them and they matter.

I feel excited when I can see clients are feeling heard and connections are being made.

I hope that client’s learn to trust  and validate themselves.

I am an introvert who loves people. I love to talk but I love to listen more. I love to connect and walk with others through difficult times.
