Groups: The Hidden Gem of the Therapy World

Looking for a fun and powerful way to connect with others and grow personally? We have a group or class for you.

While individual therapy offers a personalized path, group therapy and classes provide a unique opportunity to find support, share experiences, and learn new skills alongside people who are navigating similar challenges.

At Summit Counseling Services, we’ve leaned hard into the strength of connection and offer a range of groups and classes designed to help you grow and be a part of community.

Check Out the Benefits of Groups

Group therapy isn’t just about sitting in a circle and talking. It’s a dynamic and creative experience. You might move, create, share, play, or you might just listen. The power of group work lies in the shared experience and the different perspectives each person brings. Our groups are led by experienced therapists who create a safe and confidential space for every participant.

Shared Support

Connect with others who understand what you’re going through, reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness. We begin by gathering together, sharing, and setting a warm, welcoming tone for our time together.

Perspectives

Gain new insights and coping strategies by listening to the experiences of others.

Experiential Practice

Practice communication, social, and relationship skills in a supportive, real-time environment.

It's Creative and Fun

We have groups exploring Taylor Swift’s music, we have groups that meet on local farms, and we have groups who play Dungeon’s and Dragons.

Affordable

Group therapy is often more affordable than individual sessions, making professional help more accessible.

You Can Do Therapy Outside!

At Summit Counseling, we’re big believers in using nature as a therapy partner. Many of our groups are held at Forest Fauna Farm in Jonesborough.

We incorporate nature into our counseling services whenever possible, and this extends to our nature-based groups and classes. These services allow you to connect with both yourself and others while in a peaceful, natural setting.

Whether it’s a mindful walk or a class held outdoors, we leverage the calming and grounding effects of nature as a co-facilitator.
